(The Show must go on - Anytime - Anyhow) more
Christine Steffen is a dancer in the famous girl series. As one of the solo dancers gets pregnant, she gets the long-awaited chance: she is allowed to dance her first own solo. In these exciting hours that are supposed to give her career a decisive turn, she suddenly faces her doppelganger. Marlene Wenninger is her unknown Twin sister from the west. The sisters - raised in different parts of Germany - did not know anything about each other.
While rehearsals for the new show take place in the Friedrichstadt-Palast, Chris will be dancing her first solo, the sisters get to know each other and try to become a common whole as two separate parts. They resemble each other like an egg, speak the same language and yet they could not be more different in their view of life and the world.
The clash of the twin sisters reflects the dilemma and struggles of the two German states that, after 1989, were preparing to become a united country again.
Unity emerges through the recognition of the divisive and respect for the biography of the other - this story tells.
